The 2018 Masters: Everything You Need To Know

Golf enthusiasts around the world have been waiting for the 2018 Masters. This year, we bring one of the grandest golf competitions of all time – The 2018 Masters.

First among all parts of the competition is a kick start for the golfers. This part gives them guidelines and helps them assess their taking part in the competition. The second part is where the golfers are let to prepare for their gears and undergo practices as they are also given the rules of the competition. Part three requires a lot of focus as it is where the golfers are feeling the pressure of the competition while acting gracefully under it.

The biggest challenge in every golfer in any game is choosing the right club that could hit the ball enough to shoot it in the hole. It doesn’t require a standard area as court. The design of each golf course differs from the other and the space is not the same as well. So long as the course contains 9 to 18 holes, it is all set for golfing. Yet there are rules and regulations set for each game.

Every golfer’s number of stroke is counted in the game. Every golfer has his own strokes when playing. In golf, each player has to defeat his opponent in a match play scoring system.

This game was originated in Scotland sometime in the 12th century as shepherds kick the stones to small rabbit holes and those who scores first wins the game. Until this day, the same mechanics is used in the game but with the use of high end gears.

Over the years, golfing has evolved from being just a simple pastime to a more serious competition. Below are some of the types of golf competitions:

Medal play or stroke play

This type of golfing is the most common one as it is used in most tournaments. This type of competition requires the golfers to complete all 18 holes and the one with the least number of strokes wins.

Match plays

Match plays is where two teams of golfers compete in scoring the most holes from each other. Match plays are mostly used in golf clubs with many club members and since this type of competition is played by teams, the rules and regulations must be strictly followed by each golfers.

Scramble Competition

In this type of golfing, each player scores the balls in a hole and it will be decided which among the shots is the best one. Then the other players copy the same strokes until the game ends. Scramble is very popular among golf enthusiasts because it is the less complicated among all the other types

In this type of golf competition, a ‘skin’ which is a bag of money is placed in each hole and the players that hit the hole gets the skin and each of them compete to score first than the rest. The prize is called the ‘skin’ because it is a bag made of skin which contains cash prize.

The flag

The mechanics is this type of competition is quite simple, first, the players must allot a number of strokes which they are only allowed to use all throughout the game and when they are actually playing, all they need to do is score as much holes as they can using the number of strokes fixed.

These types of competition are what urges golf enthusiasts such as Iain Sharpe to come over and compete for the 2018 Masters Review so join the hype and watch this annual grand golfing event.
